The Moonraker is a modern red blend, with Grenache providing the cornerstone and Syrah, Tempranillo, and Mourvedre providing additional structure and personality. It showcases the complexity that is possible by combining these classic varieties.
Fresh and pleasantly herbed aromas of red pluots, raspberries, tart cherries, white pepper, fennel seed, and ripe watermelon rind. Lead by acid as much as tannin, a fresh and flowing energy moves through the mouth with effortless persistence. On the palate, we find ripe earthy red currants and wild blueberries that evolve into a long and satisfying finish.
The 2018 Moonraker had 22% of its fruit fermented whole cluster, which provides increased depth of flavor and texture, and overall saw 15 months in 34% new oak.
